Modi Initiates National Campaign to Eradicate Youth Drug Addiction

-

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has initiated a new campaign called ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’. This campaign aims to inspire the youth of India to take a stand against drug abuse and lead a nationwide movement. The initiative is set to run for 100 weeks, featuring a variety of public awareness activities. These activities, which will occur every Sunday, include sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programs, and community outreach efforts.

Addressing the participants through a virtual platform, Modi highlighted the threat that drug trafficking poses to the nation. He warned that hostile forces are using drug trafficking as a tool to harm India’s interests and undermine the strength of its young population. Modi stressed the critical importance of safeguarding young people from addiction as a step towards building a developed India, or ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The campaign already boasts the involvement of over one crore young individuals from diverse backgrounds, reflecting a strong commitment to the cause. Modi expressed his appreciation for their participation and the broader impact they hope to achieve in their communities.

Furthermore, Modi noted the significant response from the youth, mentioning that lakhs of young individuals have pledged to abstain from drugs and to actively promote awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. This collective pledge underscores the campaign’s goal of empowering the youth to take charge of their future and contribute to a healthier society.
