China and India are gearing up for their next round of Special Representatives’ Talks on the Boundary Question, marking the 25th such meeting between the two nations. This announcement was made by Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, during a routine press briefing on Tuesday. Guo emphasized that both countries are actively communicating to address border-related concerns, working diligently to implement the agreements from their last round of talks.
As part of ongoing diplomatic engagements, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is currently visiting New Delhi. His trip is primarily focused on attending the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. During this visit, Wang Yi had a meeting with Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Adviser, on Monday, which underscores the importance of continued dialogue between the two neighboring countries.
Guo Jiakun also highlighted that the situation along the China-India border remains stable. He pointed out that communication channels between the two countries are functioning effectively, which is crucial for managing their complex border issues. This ongoing dialogue is seen as vital to maintaining peace and stability along the frontier, a priority for both nations.
The upcoming talks are expected to build on the progress made during the 24th round of discussions. Both China and India are actively implementing the consensus reached in those talks, which is a positive step towards resolving their long-standing boundary disputes. The dialogue aims to further manage and mitigate border tensions, ensuring that the region remains peaceful and secure.
With the groundwork laid by previous meetings, the upcoming round of talks represents another opportunity for China and India to strengthen their communication and cooperation on border issues. As both countries continue to engage in diplomatic efforts, the focus remains on sustaining stability and preventing any potential conflicts along their shared boundary.
