Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role as Cliff Booth, the character he portrayed in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” in an upcoming spin-off movie directed by David Fincher. Titled “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth,” this new film will delve into the life of the Hollywood stuntman with a mysterious past as he navigates the evolving landscape of the film industry.
The movie is scheduled for a limited two-week global IMAX release starting on November 25, with its subsequent debut on Netflix slated for December 23. Notably, Quentin Tarantino penned the screenplay for the film but opted not to direct, as he had previously expressed a desire for his final directorial project not to be a sequel, despite his enthusiasm for continuing Booth’s story.
Set in 1977, eight years after the events of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” the spin-off will explore how Booth adjusts to the changing dynamics of a very different Hollywood. The cast is headlined by Brad Pitt and includes notable names such as Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian. The original film featured Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, capturing the essence of Los Angeles in the late 1960s.
Taking the helm for this project is David Fincher, whose directorial repertoire includes acclaimed films like “Fight Club,” “Zodiac,” “The Social Network,” and “Gone Girl.” He has also directed popular Netflix series such as “House of Cards” and “Mindhunter.” Quentin Tarantino, meanwhile, is renowned for directing iconic films such as “Pulp Fiction,” “Reservoir Dogs,” “Kill Bill,” “Django Unchained,” and “The Hateful Eight.”
The return of Cliff Booth marks a significant reunion for Brad Pitt with Tarantino’s memorable character.
