Alcaraz: “My Feelings Today Were Unbelievable” in Roland Garros Rout

-

Carlos Alcaraz described his feelings as “unbelievable” after routing Tommy Paul 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 in the French Open quarter-finals, securing his third consecutive semi-final appearance. The defending champion’s dominant performance showcased a significant return to his top form.
Alcaraz had faced a complicated path to the quarter-finals, dropping sets and occasionally showing frustration. However, against Paul, he demonstrated exceptional control and varied shotmaking, stating he was “starting to give every shot at my 100%.”
Paul, despite his athleticism and ability to challenge top players, was visibly weary from previous taxing matches and an abdominal issue. His fatigue, combined with Alcaraz’s sublime level, meant he had no answer for the Spaniard’s relentless attack, setting up a compelling semi-final with Lorenzo Musetti.
