Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his “dear friend,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged that “Israel stands with you” after a terror attack in Delhi. The blast on Monday killed at least eight people.
“To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India… we send our deepest condolences,” Netanyahu wrote, co-signed by his wife, Sara. He offered support “in sorrow and in strength.”
Netanyahu also delivered a powerful message of resilience, rooted in the shared history of the two nations. “India and Israel are ancient civilisations… terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he affirmed.
The message of solidarity was echoed by Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, who also offered condolences and support in the “fight against terror.”
The investigation into the blast is now being led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The agency has formed a “dedicated” team to probe the “terrorist attack,” with sources indicating a Jaish-e-Mohammad module is responsible.
